Lunch dice
Somewhere within 250 m of where you are standing, picked at random from what Google says is nearby, open and well enough rated, with the walk drawn on a map. The last 5 places it landed on sit the next rolls out, so pressing it again gets you somewhere else.
The roll
Your browser asks first. The position is used for this search and held only while this page is open: it is never written to your device and never stored on a server.

What the numbers mean
- Venues, ratings, prices and opening hours come from Google. The search returns at most the 60 nearest places to you, so a wide radius in a busy street does not mean every candidate in it. A cuisine Google does not state is read from the name where the name says plainly what it sells, and is “Other” where it does not.
- The map and the line across it are Google’s: the route follows the streets and the distance and time beside it are measured along it. Where a route cannot be fetched the line is dashed and straight, the figure goes back to the straight-line distance multiplied by 1.3 and timed at 80 metres a minute, and it is written as an estimate.
- The filters, and the places you rule out, are kept on this device. Where you are is not: it is asked for each visit and held only while the page is open.
